CHOKA is a Latin-American collective based in Berlin founded by Bolivian DJ/multidisciplinary artist Maque Pereyra and BrazilianDJ/producer/experimental musician Ricardo Eizirik (aka auto_timer).
Inspired by the Spanish word "chocar," meaning to collide, CHOKA exists as a party and a platform dedicated to amplifying sounds and practices from the global south with a special focus on Latin America and its diasporic communities. We unite performers and DJ's from eclectic backgrounds, fostering collaborations where music genres and cultural practices intersect. We emphasise the focus on queer artists with migration backgrounds, ensuring that CHOKA establishes itself as a platform for all voices to be heard and celebrated.
